OSHA's no-cost, confidential On-Site Consultation Program offers employers an opportunity to find out about potential health and safety hazards in the workplace, improve programs that are already in place and potentially qualify for a one-year exemption from routine OSHA inspections. 

Primarily intended for to small- and medium-sized businesses, consultation services are available in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and several U.S. territories, with priority given to high-hazard work sites.

This program is completely separate from the OSHA inspection and enforcement efforts and does not result in penalties or citations. Consultants from state agencies or universities work with employers to identify workplace hazards, provide advice for compliance with OSHA standards, and assist in establishing and improving safety and health programs.

The consultation is confidential and will not be reported routinely to the OSHA inspection staff. No citations or penalties will be issued and your only obligation is to correct serious job safety and health hazards.

Using OSHA's no-cost consultation service lowers injury and illness rates, ultimately saving both employers and employees from the cost of accidents while raising morale and increasing productivity rates.
