During NFDA’s 2023 International Convention & Expo in Las Vegas in September, Batesville highlighted the latest additions to its NewPointe collection, a major expansion of its cremation products, the engineering and design behind its dual-disposition caskets and a preview of Generations By Batesville, an exclusive line of sustainable caskets.
Batesville’s NewPointe collection includes a wide assortment of competitively priced, high-quality products with value-added features to help families create meaningful tributes for loved ones. The new Vega (18 gauge) and Aquarius (20 gauge) caskets feature velvet interiors and a decorative kit option; the whole collection features more than 70 models.
In addition, the company introduced 50 competitively priced urns, cremation containers and keepsakes. Featuring new product design, materials and styles, the offerings were informed by a comprehensive consumer research study completed earlier this year.
A special exhibit featured Batesville’s dual-disposition caskets, which can perform as either a burial or cremation casket via a cardboard-coated bed liner; a perforated “Family Choices” panel; a cremation-ready lift system and wood bed, with a nylon lift screw; and glass-filled nylon arms. In a side-by-side test, the company’s dual-disposition casket contained three times less metal than a similar competitive model before cremation, as well as three times less post-cremation metal waste.
Because a growing number of consumers consider the environmental impact of the products they purchase, the company introduced Generations by Batesville, an exclusive line of sustainable caskets. Every casket is sustainably sourced and environmentally conscious, using water-based exterior finishes, natural cotton interiors and minimal metal components.
In addition, convention attendees witnessed live demonstrations of Batesville’s free website platform, including its new Floral Select e-commerce offering; experienced the convenience and efficiency of Batesville Connect; and explored the latest enhancements to its management software.
Finally, Batesville also expanded its Living Memorial tree-planting program by offering a matching tree donation to families. The company will now match, tree for tree, the ones that families plant. Families can choose a single tree or enough to restore a small forest, and Batesville will match their selection tree for tree.
A brochure introducing the new matching tree donation program will be provided with the initial Living Memorial letter from Batesville. Families that purchase memorial trees will also receive a digital certificate with their loved one’s name to commemorate the planting. batesville.com
